What’s so contemporary about stained glass?!
An intrigued client asked us to describe what we mean by contemporary stained glass… we can’t resist… it’s such an exciting opportunity to give you a glimpse of this captivating genre! When anyone mentions stained glass you’d be forgiven if the first image straight in your mind is of a church window overflowing with religious meaning. Whilst such beautiful creations are steeped in history, what is fascinating about the craft is how it effortlessly evolves in style and design regardless of time or place. Hundreds of years later it continues to embody beauty and signifies exquisite taste, high quality and defines an extremely visual and soulful epitome of creative and artistic style. So what inspires us to be so enthusiastic? Quite simply, today there are boundless possibilities with glass and R. G. Croudace Glass offers the opportunities to combine modern with traditional techniques.
We believe the key to excellent design is introducing colour, texture and character to each individual place and space so that it personally reflects the people and environment that surrounds it. Glass work achieves this from one small piece of colour to a wall sized creation. An inspirational place to start are the creations of Brian Clarke!
Tesellating patterns are bold, effective and enthralling from indoors and out...
Combining divided clear sections of textured glass alongside just one or two colours adds so much style we can't stop being excited about this design!
Even a single sheet of these incredible hand-made sheets of Lamberts glass are mind blowing. Each sheet is natural in its colour mix and texture and is never replicated. You own one of a kind in the world. Whole sheets (approximately 1500mm x 1200mm) can even be displayed as art pieces themselves.
One of our specialized services is screen printing your images and text, even handwriting, directly onto or inside glass to become a permanent feature of your stained glass. No one else will have one like it anywhere. It gets even more exciting! Here's sneaky peak at our work combining real plants inside glass and another with four of our hand made squares of glass to fit inside a stained glass design... imagine seeing any of these as one part of your stained glass everyday.
What are you inspired to enrich your life and home with now?! Tell us about your dreams and ideas... we can't wait to hear from you!
